Where to Get Art Supplies

I love to paint! Calgary is an artsy City with an abundance of supply stores, classes, galleries etc.  I reccently scoured the city looking for something called "pouring medium".  Lots of stores had it but I wanted the big 4 Litre pail...why go small when I can go big.  I purchase my supplies at a number of local stores including the Calgary School of Art located just off Manhattan Road and Blackfoot Trail in an industrial area - you may not stumble across it unless someone tells you it's there, Mona Lisa on 7th St. SW just off 17th Ave in Mount Royal Village (lots of other great shops in the area too!), Inglewood Art Supplies in, you guessed it, Inglewood - right on 9th Ave's main strip but a little West of the trendy shops and restaurants, Kensington Art Supply on 10th St. NW - which I've not been into yet but will add to my list of must sees - not that I need an excuse to wander through Kensington, and last but not least Swinton's Art on Fisher Road SE on the East side of McLeod Trail not far from Chinook Mall.   I'm sure there are lots more that I don’t even know about….so if you have any to add, be sure to let me know!

Did I find my treasured medium?  I certainly did….at Swinton’s and I managed to get the last one at that!  It would seem there was an City shortage…..but I’m sure everyone has since restocked!
